Mother’s Day

Of all the jobs in the entire world, being a mother has to at the same time be the most rewarding and the least rewarded. Where would any of us be without our mothers? I know I owe a huge debt in how I turned out to my mother, so on this Mother’s Day, let them know how we truly feel about them.

May Day U.S.S.R.

Each May 1st, Communist countries used to celebrate with long military parades. Known as May Day in the former U.S.S.R., it was a chance to show its citizens its military might. Much less common today due to changes to the Iron Curtain, more openness, etcetera, it was traditionally quite the sight to see.

Canadian Tax Deadline

Before any of my Canadian Loyal Readers go to bed tonight, they have to make sure their tax return is in the mail. Never fun I know, but at least they had longer than their American counterparts who had to turn theirs in by the 15th. Once it is in, here’s hoping a large return comes your way.

American Tax Deadline

Just a reminder to all my American Loyal Readers, your taxes are due tonight. Just in case you haven’t opened up your shoebox of receipts yet, you do have until midnight tonight to get your tax return in. And here is hoping you get a nice big fat refund from the IRS. Of course, if you lived in Canada, your taxes still wouldn’t be due yet!

April Fools’ Day

Just a reminder to all my Loyal Readers, not that any of you need it, but perhaps you can use this reminder to advise some of your more trusting friends, that any strange news coming out today, may not necessarily be true. This particularly includes any news stories released before noon local time. Another thing to consider is if Google the Search Engine is somehow involved. Today is April Fools Day after all. Happy April Fish Day to all my Loyal Readers. Wikipedia will explain further if you don’t know what I am talking about.

The First Day of Spring

Today is the official First Day of Spring. The day that starts the flowers blooming, the bees buzzing, the grass growing green. A young man’s fancy turns to thoughts of fair maidens on this day. Today is the official start of the better six months of the year. A. Ryan Robbins is officially happy once again!

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day

As my Loyal Readers know, the theme colours for my Law Enforcement Computer Information Security web site ycopfiles.com are green and black. This is because those are my two favourite colours in order. So that being said, any stat holiday, which encourages the wearing of my favourite colour all day long, deserves special recognition from me. Therefore, Happy Saint Patrick’s Day to all, and to anyone who wore green all day, next year consider wearing black with your green. They go great together!
